Deed: Carr Source: Nelson County VA Deed Bk 16, Pg 288 Contributor: Shirley Houk This Deed made this 12th day of April in the year 1864 Between James W Carr of the first part and Elizabeth B Carr and Virginia H Carr the former his wife and the latter his daughter of the other part Witnesseth That the said James W Carr for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which he bears to his said wife and daughter and the further consideration of the sum of one dollar to him the said James W Carr in hand paid by the said Elizabeth B. Carr, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged by the same James W. Carr doth hereby give and grant unto the said Elizabeth B Carr his wife the following property to wit. One certain tract of land lying on the south fork of Tye River & south side of the same containing fifty acres adjoining the lands of Reuben G. Coffey; also my undivided interest being the one half thereof of a certain tract or parcel of land owned by Mrs Nancy Christopher & myself jointly, on a portion of which tract I now reside containing in the whole one hundred and twenty acres more or less, also all my personal property of every kind and description (with its increase) & bonds or chosen in action and whatever interest I or she may have or be entitled to from her father’s Estate; said property real and personal, __?_ to be held, used and enjoyed, by her at her discretion and under her control, for her support and maintenance, and that of my daughter, such as she may choose to give or furnish her, - and at the death of my said wife, should any of the property, real or personal, or many, or choses (sic) inaction remain, then that remainder is to _?__ to the use and benefit of my said daughter Virginia St. Carr their heirs & assigns - And the said James W. Carr doth covenant to warrant generally the title, to the property hereby conveyed - Witnesseth the signature and seal. Interlineations (?) before signed. James W.
