Deeds Vol. 10-11 / 1789-1795 (in 1795 on page 924) CONTRIBUTOR: Brenda Sistrom ------------------------------------------------------------------- This indenture made this sixth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five between Bartlet Garrel and Mask his wife of the County of Albemarle of the one part and William Woods of the said county of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of twenty nine pounds sixteen shillings and nine pence the said Bartlet Gerrel and Mask his wife hath bargained and sold unto the said William Woods one certain tract of land lying in the County of Albemarle on the ___ of Beaver Creek containing eighty-five and a quarter acres and boundaries followeth to wit: Beginning at a black gum in Archibald Woods old line thence north sixteen East one hundred and seventy ___ to a ___oak in David Mills old line there with the said Mills South seventy east sixty-seven to a pine stump in a path course to said Mills then south eighty-one east thirty-one___ to a pine and white oak___pointers in the head of a Hollow then south four east forty four___to a stone in William Woods field then with the said Woods line South Eighty-eight west nineteen___to a lying down pine then south forty-one west one hundred and fifty three___to a white oak stump___ to said William Woods in Archibald Woods old line then with his line North fifty west thirty two___to the Beginning; To have and to hold the said eighty five and a quarter acres of land with its apprertinaning thereunto belonging to the said William Woods his heirs and assigns forever and the said Bartlet Gerrel and Mask his wife for themselves and their heirs doth by these present forever warrant and defend the said eighty five and a quarter acres of land with their appertenancey unto the said William Woods his heirs against the claim and demand of any person or persons whatsoever, In Witness whereof the said Bartlet Gerreld and Mask his wife hath set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above mentioned.
