Obituary: Jacob Tildon Allen, 1953 Source: Staunton News Leader dtd Jan 7, 1953 Contributor: Shirley Houk ---------------------------------------------------------- Jacob Tildon Allen, 76, died at 2 a.m. yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. C. Layton, Sunset Ranch, Waynesboro. Mr. Allen was born Oct. 1, 1876, in Nelson County, and was a retired farmer. Survivors include eight daughters, Mrs. H. F. Campbell, Mrs. George Lucas and Mrs. H. C. Seaman, all of Stuarts Draft; Mrs. W. C. Layton, Waynesboro; Mrs. Ralph Falls, Lithia; Mrs. C. T. Bradley, Fishersville; Mrs. Walt Liebert, Philadelphia; and Mrs. Walter Herron, Rainelle, W. Va. Also six sons, Wilmer Allen, Stanford, W. Va.; Jack Allen, Stuarts Draft; Edward Allen, Montebello; Ray Allen, Waynesboro; Frank and Dillon Allen, both of Park Station; two brothers, W. L. Allen, Vesuvius, and P. F. Allen, Thaxton; three sisters, Mrs. Bell Cash, Roanoke; Miss Anna Allen and Mrs. Nettie Maddox, both of Montebello; 45 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The procession will leave the Etter Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Thursday for Mt. Paran Baptist Church at Montebello where funeral services will be conducted one hours later by the Rev. A. M. Michael, assisted by the Rev. C. S. Bateman. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
