Tanya L. Barker
Tanya Lynn Barker, 31, of Schuyler, Nelson County, departed this life Monday, 
Jan. 19, 2004, at the University of Virginia Hospital.
Born in Schuyler on April 21, 1972, she was the daughter of the late Thomas 
and Patricia Barker.
Tanya leaves to cherish her memory her brother and sister-in-law, Mitch and 
Tina Barker of Afton; her sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Frank Adcock 
Jr. of Louisa; a maternal grandparent, Grace Bufford of Howardsville; two 
uncles, Samuel Barker of Verona and Gary Kidd of Schuyler; one aunt, Shirley 
Able of Scottsville; three nephews, Zachary, Hunter, and Morgan Barker; her 
friend and companion, Wayne Phillips and his son, Nathan Phillips, of 
Schuyler; along with many special friends and relatives.
Tanya graduated from Nelson County High School and attended Piedmont College. 
She was a dental assistant who especially enjoyed working with children. She 
was an outgoing individual who was free spirited and loved by all. Her memory 
will be cherished forever.
The memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Whitney Critzer at 7 p.m. 
Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at Church of the Blue Ridge, Route 151 in Afton. 
Friends and family will be received downstairs in the fellowship hall 
immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the 
Afton Christian School, c/o Mitch Barker, 988 Crawford's View Road, Afton, VA 
22920.
