NELSON COUNTY, VA - OBITUARIES - Ethel (King) Barnett, 25 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Source: The Daily Progress, Sunday, December 28, 2003 Ethel (King) Barnett, 93, of Covesville, died December 25, 2003, at Winterhaven II. Born January 19, 1910, in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late J. Henry and Ruth Watts King. She was also preceded in death by her husband, O. Gunnell Barnett; three brothers, J. Lee King, Harry T. King, Marion King; two sisters, Mary K. White and Eunice King. She was a retired seamstress with Jacobson Clothing factory, with over 35 years of service. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara B. Raines and her husband Richard of Stuarts Draft; Rebecca B. Wilmer and her husband Charles of Charlottesville; a sister, Annie Bibb of Vinton, Va.; five grandchildren, David S. Fitzgerald, Richard Lee Raines both of Stuarts Draft; Lisa R. Lafon of Powhatan; Charlotte W. Ford of Atlanta, GA; and William Todd Wilmer of Crozet; and seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank her dedicated friends, Betty Bennington & Beula Webb, the staff at Winterhaven; Teresa and Ada with Hospice for the loving care they all provided. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2003, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Hill & Wood Chapel with Rev. Jim Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
