Bartley STAUNTON -- Mrs. Margaret Jesse Campbell Bartley, 69, of Route 6, died Monday (Sept. 4). She was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Mrs. Ella B. Groah and step- daughter of the late Mr. Robert Groah. Survivors include three sons, James R. Bartley of Churchville, and Roy G. Bartley and Carlton W. Bartley, both of Staunton; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia B. Ramsey or Churchville, and Mrs. Jean B. Chandler, Mrs. Patricia A. Benson and Mrs. Brenda G. Conner, all of Staunton; a brother, Gordon Campbell of Churchville; two half brothers, Raymond L. Groah and Ralph Grove, both of Lyndhurst; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Louise Groah Bartley. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Henry Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Harold Wade and Edward Richardson. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Boyd "Buck" Brown, Charles "CB" Tichenour, Melvin Rankin, William "Bud" Little, Bill Nuckols, Robbie Robinson and Bobby Beam. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
