Beasley Phillip B. Beasley, 74, of Esmont and formerly of Schuyler, died Monday, April 2, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lee and Etta Mae Wood Beasley; his first wife, June Lee Beasley; three brothers, Thomas (Buck) Beasley, Melvin Beasley, and Pershing Beasley; and one sister, Aurella Goolsby. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Walsh Beasley; three step- children whom he loved as his own, Mary Breeden Haggard of Florida, Gwen Davis of Barboursville, and Gayle Imes of Richmond; one brother, Robert Beasley of Schuyler; one sister, Margaret Moore of Wytheville; one sister-in-law, Frances Reznick Beasley; six step grandchildren, Christopher and Charlie Maya, Angela Barckert, Jacob Small, and Karen and Kelly Davis; and four step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Beasley served in the U.S. Navy during World War 11. He was a member of Schuyler Baptist Church. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottesville, with the Rev. Thomas B. Fowler and the Rev Glenn Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Monticello Memory Gardens in Charlottesville.
