Obituary: Virginia Frances (Marrs) Bowling, age 86, died Oct 15, 1992 Source: The Charlottesville Daily Progress, Oct 18, 1992 Contributor: Diane Lamb ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Virginia Frances Bowling, 86, of Charlottesville, formerly of Fluvanna County, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1992. She was the daughter of the late Gus and Amanda Marrs. She was preceded in death by her husband, John James Bowling. Mrs. Bowling is survived by one son, John James Bowling Jr., and his wife, Nancy Lee Bowling, of Fluvanna County; two daughters, Lorene B. Moore of Troy and Violet G. Craig of Charlottesville; one sister, Lydia Edwards of Fredericksburg; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her devoted friend, Peggy Pace. She was a longtime member of Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church in Fluvanna County. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church, Fluvanna, with the Rev. Cecil T. Pace and the Rev. Sidney E. Craig officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
