Obituary: Mary Lee Bowling, 2002 Source: The News and Advance, Lynchburg, VA., July 29, 2002 Contributor: Dennis Truslow --------------------------------------------------------------- Mary Lee Campbell Bowling, 81, of Massies Mill, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at her home. Born in Massies Mill Jan. 5, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Ottie Bine Campbell and Mildred Nash Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Alvin Bowling. Mary Lee was owner/operator of B & F Service Center in Massies Mill for many years, was employed by the Glen L. Martin Factory in Dundalk, Md., where she worked in the Assembly Plant during World War II, was a lifelong member of the Massies Mill Presbyterian Church, and a charter member of the Roseland Rescue Squad Auxiliary, where she served as past president and was active until poor health. Survivors include one son, John Alvin Bowling II and his wife, Deborah, of Arrington; one daughter, Gail B. Sutler and her husband, Gary, of Chesterfield; a brother, Richard (Dick) Campbell of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Mildred C. Crowley and Carol C. Ferguson, both of Roseland; four grandchildren, Jennifer Sutler, Gary (Chip) Sutler, Angelique B. Wade and her husband, Kevin and John (Jay) Bowling III; and one great-granddaughter, Jillian Wade. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home by the Rev. David Blevins, with burial in Jonesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roseland Rescue Squad, P.O.
