  Dorothy Louise Shipp Brown, 67, of Palmyra, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at her home. 
  She was born March 16, 1935, in Fluvanna County, daughter of Bessie G. Franck and 
the late Russell Allen Harlow. 
  She was also preceded in death by two stepdaughters, Doris Holland and Gracie Payne. 
  Mrs. Brown was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. 
  She is survived by her mother, Bessie G. Franck; her husband, Edgar Samuel Brown Sr. 
of Palmyra; two daughters, Janet Tillman and Judy Randolph, both of Charlottesville; 
two brothers, Mason C. Harlow and wife, JoAnne, of New Canton, and Ray Sterling Harlow 
and wife, Martha, of Louisa; five stepsons, Robert "Buster" Brown and wife, Fannie, 
Edgar Brown Jr. and wife, Gertrude, Charles Brown and wife, Elaine, Broadus Brown and 
wife, Gail, all of Palmyra, and Johnny Brown and wife, Brenda, of Fork Union; four 
stepdaughters, Norvella Haywood of Washington, D.C., Joan Key of Palmyra, Ella Brown 
of Washington, D.C., and Rose Brown of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren, including 
a very special grandchild, Jackie Tillman, Toby Randolph and Melinda Bryant; five great-
grandchildren; a special friend, Brenda Marshall; and a host of nieces, nephews, other 
relatives and friends. 
  The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Sheridan Funeral 
Home at Kents Store. 
  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Shiloh Baptist Church, with 
interment to follow in the family cemetery.
