OBITUARY: James S. "Bunny" Bryant, 1999 SOURCE: Unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow ------------------------------------------------------ PINEY RIVER -- James S. "Bunny" Bryant, 92, of Piney River, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 7, 1999 at his residence. Born Aug. 30, 1907 in Nelson County, he was a son of the late Sam Bryant and Sally Ramsey Bryant. He was a retired farmer, logger and timberman and was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Ida Fitzgerald Bryant on Feb. 7, 1999. He is survived by three daughters, Minnie A. Fitzgerald of Afton, Loraine B. Fittery and husband, Paul and Ann B. Davis and husband, James all of Piney River; two sons, James H. Bryant and wife, Dorothy of Roseland and William R. Bryant and wife, Hazel of Amherst, 14 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by five grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Piney River Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Dean and the Rev. Troy Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery in Roseland. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight at Piney River Funeral Home and other times at the family residence and suggest that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Roseland Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 39, Roseland.
