Buzzard John Ferris Buzzard, 70, of Schuyler, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Buzzard and Sable Holstein Buzzard; one son, Thomas Buzzard; and one sister, Ruth Smith. Survivors include his wife, Earlene Carroll Buzzard; two children, Sandra Hasbrouck, of Dumfries and James J. Buzzard of Ithaca, N.Y.; one stepdaughter Sherry D. Faircloth, and one stepson he raised as his own, William B. Loving, of Schuyler; two brothers, Don Buzzard, of Ohio and Brady Buzzard of West Virginia; five sisters, Marie Atkins, Gladys Meadows, Betty White, Barbara Barker and Judy Pauley, all of West Virginia; three grandchildren; and one step-grandchild. Mr. Buzzard retired from the University of Virginia Physical Plant, and had served four years in the U.S. Army. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottesville, with Pastor Claudio Consuegra and the Rev. Barry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Scottesville Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
