	Raymond L. Cunningham, 72, a former resident of Alexandria and long-
time companion of the late Lillian Howard, died unexpectedly at his home in 
Ruckersville on Tuesday, May 11, 2004. 
	He was born in Piney River, (Nelson County), served in the Navy from 
1952 to 1954 and retired from RF&P Railroad in Northern Virginia in 1990. 
	He is survived by two daughters and one son, Theresa Godfrey of 
Lorton, Brenda Smith Alexandria and F.W. Cunningham of Lewes, Dela.; four 
grandchildren, Douglas Smith Jr., Wayne Andrew Cunningham, Jonathan Smith and 
Amanda Godfrey; and one brother, Marion Cunningham of Manassas. 
	A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 
2004, at Teague Funeral Home, Charlottesville, with burial in Mount Comfort 
Cemetery, Alexandria at a later date. 
	In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Heart 
Association, 3025, Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
