OBITUARY: Harold Thomas Campbell, 1997 SOURCE: unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow ------------------------------------------------------ Harold Thomas Campbell, 70, of Tyro died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. Born in Nelson County Dec. 23, 1926, he was a son of the late Clarence E. Campbell Sr. and Bucy McClellan Hatter Campbell. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lila Wilson Campbell; two sons, Harold Thomas Campbell Jr. and Mark Campbell, both of Tyro; one daughter, Linda Campbell Coffey of Oakton; three brothers, Harry F. Campbell, Clarence E. Campbell Jr. and William Campbell, all of Rustburg; two sisters, Christine Holman of Madison Heights and Ann Blanks of Forest; and four grandchildren. A funeral service was held in Jonesboro Cemetery by the Rev. Larry Walker. The family received friends at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home and at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roseland Rescue Squad, P .0.
