OBITUARY: Evelyn Kirby Camden, 1995 SOURCE: The Daily Press, Newport News, VA, May 7, 1995 CONTRIBUTOR: Sylvia Ray ----------------------------------------------------------- EVELYN KIRBY CAMDEN Evelyn Kirby Camden, age 78, died Saturday , May 6, 1995, in Riverside Regional Medical Center. She was born in Nelson County and had been a Peninsula resident since 1940. She was a homemaker and a member of Olivet Christian Church. Mrs. Camden was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Theodore Wilson Camden, Sr., and by a daughter, Caroll Cundiff. She is survived by one son, Theodore W. Camden, Jr. of Newport News; two daughters, Sylvia Ray of Hampton and Betty Smith of Newport News; two brothers, Massie Kirby of Roseland and Dickie Kirby of Charlotte, North Carolina; three sisters, Vernell Sealey and Elsie Plante of Newport News, and Dorothy Templeton of Lyndhurst; and five grandsons, Dwayne Ray, Cary Ray, Bert Cundiff, Kyle Smith and Jordan Smith. Friends may join the family Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Weymouth Funeral Home, 12746 Nettles Drive, Newport News. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Weymouth Funeral Home by the Rev. William H. Ferguson, Jr. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
