CAMDEN William Carrington "Carrey" Camden, 84, 228-30th St., Newport News, died Friday (March 16, 1973) in Medic-Home Health Center after a long illness. A native of Nelson County, he had been a resident of the Peninsula for the past 40 years. He was a retired building contractor, a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of Dexon and Shaw Men's Bible Class, a member of Newport News Retired Men's Club, and a member of Carpenters Union No. 396. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Wood of Amherst; four sons, Harold B. Camden of Palm Beach, Florida, Charles E. Camden of Okinawa, Theodore W. Camden and Joe T. Camden of Newport News; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lillian Turner of Newport News; a stepson, Ronald H. Miller of Newport News; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Betty Coates of Newport News and Mrs. Mattie Sparrow of Norfolk; 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge.
