Obituary: Annie Lea Campbell, 2001 Source: Nelson County Times Contributor: Carol Harlow ------------------------------------------------------------------- Annie Lea Campbell, 80, of Amherst, died Saturday Oct. 6, 2001 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Braxton Campbell. Born March 26, 1921 in Nelson County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Warren and Maggie Nora Campbell. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Alfred, John, Jesse, Wilson, Oscar Warren, Jr., and Raleigh Campbell; two sisters, Mary and Claudia Campbell; and two grandchildren. She is survived by four sons, Alton T. Campbell and Delmas B. Campbell, both of Lowesville, L. D. Campbell of Amherst and Linwood V. Campbell of Arrington; one daughter, Linda Drewry of Amherst; two sisters, Dolly Groah of Lyndhurst and Elizabeth Campbell of Fishersville; six brothers, James Campbell and Lee Campbell, both of Raphine, Bill Campbell of Buena Vista, George Campbell of Middlebrook, Chap Campbell of Salem, and Thurman Campbell of Verona; 14 grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Oct 9, 2001 at Bethel Baptist Church, Rt. 29, with the Rev. Dave Peters officiating. Burial followed in Amherst Cemetery.
