Obituary: Palmer Terrin Campbell, 1954 Published: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Dennis Truslow --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Palmer Terrin Campbell, 73, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday (March 29, 1954) at the University of Virginia Hospital, after a lingering illness. Mr. Campbell was born June 24, 1880, son of the late Lawson and Susan Truslow Campbell. He is survived by his widow, Nannie Dodd Campbell, of Beech Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Christine Campbell Wilhelm and Mrs. Virginia Campbell Vanderherchen, also a grandson, Barton Vanderherchen, all of Wanesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Campbell McGann of Beech Grove; and Mrs. Etta Campbell Quick of Waynesboro; one brother, Cleveland Campbell of Lynchburg; also a number of nieces and nephews. He was a life long member of Beech Grove Christian Church, where he served as chairman of the official board of the church. The body will remain at the McDow-Tyree Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Wednesday, when it will be taken to Beech Grove Christian Church, where the funeral will be held at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. J. T. Watson of Lynchburg, assisted by the Rev. Elwood Campbell, pastor of Mr. Campbell. Active pallbearers will be Ronald Hughes, Vance Hughes, Hawthorne Falls, Layman Dodd, Delman Campbell, Maxie Campbell, Ra(???) Campbell, Tom Quick, and Dave Groves.
