Obituary: Gladys (Dodd) Campbell, died Nov. 28, 1985 Source: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Dennis Truslow ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROSELAND - Mrs. Gladys Virginia Campbell, 65, of Route 1, Box 147, was pronounced dead-on-arrival Thursday evening at University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. She was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Roy Courtney and Loney Fitzgerald Dodd. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Beech Grove Christian Church. Survivors included three sons, Wilbert Campbell of Staunton, Earl Campbell of Norfolk and Ralph Campbell of Roseland; three daughters, Mrs. Judy Morris and Miss Jennifer Hickman, both of Roseland, and Mrs. Brenda Fitzgerald of Afton; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Huffman of Waynesboro; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rupert Campbell, in 1970, and her second husband, Raymond A. Campbell, April 26, 1985; two sisters, Mrs. Christie Truslow and Mrs. Hazel Hickman and one brother, McKinley Dodd. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Beech Grove Christian Church by the Rev. J. D. Farris and the Rev. Mitchell Scott. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Koschara, Waren Fitzgerald, Toby Fitzgerald, Doug Campbell, Robert Varner, Walter Martin, Bill England and Cecil Campbell. The family will receive friends in McDow Funeral Home from 7 to 8 Saturday evening.
