Campbell, Age 76, born Mar. 4, 1910, died Dec. 6, 1986 Published: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Dennis Truslow ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROSELAND - Maphis Parnell Campbell, 76, of Route 1, died Saturday afternoon at his residence. He was born in Beech Grove, March 4, 1910, a son of the late Marcellus and Laura Dodd Campbell. Mr. Campbell was a lifelong member of Beech Grove Christian Church and retired in 1974 from the Waynesboro Du Pont Co. after 27 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Woodson Campbell; one son, Jerry M. Campbell of Lyndhurst; one grandson, Gregory Scott Campbell; one brother, McAuldman Campbell of Waynesboro; and one sister, Mrs. Thelma Leech of Waynesboro. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Irving Campbell, Landieth Campbell, Mulford Campbell, Berkley Campbell and Haywood Campbell. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Beech Grove Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. James Lowe. Internment will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Worthy Thompson, Chester Campbell, Danny Leech, John Hodge, Neel Flannagan, Luther McGann, Garth Fields and L. C. Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home and at other times in the residence.
