  Dorothy McGuire Campbell, 82, of Beech Grove, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at 
Lynchburg General Hospital. 
  Born Nov. 16, 1920, in Monroe, she was a daughter of the late Harry N. McGuire 
and Nomecha Johnson McGuire. 
  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, 
Basil Martin Campbell, on May 27, 1997; a brother, Harry N. McGuire Jr.; and a 
sister, Helen Carwile. 
  Mrs Campbell was a member of Beech Grove Christian Church. 
  She is survived by one son, Rodney Campbell and his wife, Janet of Waynesboro; 
three daughters, Nancy Davis and her husband, Marvin, of Shipman, Peggy Butt and 
her husband, Donald, of Lynchburg, and Lori Megginson and her husband, William of 
Faber; one sister, Hilda Guill of Appomattox; eight grandchildren; five great-
grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beech Grove Christian 
Church. Interment will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. 
  The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Byrum-Parr Funeral 
Home in Roseland.
