Obituary: Oscar E. Cash, Died January 15, 1976 Source: The News Virginia, Waynesboro, Virginia, (date unknown) Contributor: Diane Lamb ---------------------------------------------------------------- AFTON- Oscar Elmer Cash, 81, of Rt. 2 died Thursday night in Waynesboro Community Hospital. He was born in Piney River, Nov. 2, 1894, a son of the late Nathaniel and Olivia Cash. Mr. Cash was a retired farmer and a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maggie Lowe Cash of Afton; five daughters, Mrs. James Wright of Lynchburg, Mrs. William Trapnell of Wilmington, Ohio, Mrs. Cortina Marressette of Richmond, Mrs. George Linger and Mrs. Eva Mayo, both of Afton; three sons, Earl G. Cash and Roger A. Cash, both of Afton and William G. Cash of Waynesboro; a sister, Mrs. Ada Mays of Amherst; 25 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hebron Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. John Chafee, with interment in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Sunday. Active pallbearers will be David Cash, Allen Cash, Todd Cash, Darrell Cash, William Lindsay, and Randy Trapnell.
