Obituary: Charles Windsor Cheape, 2003 Source: The Daily Progress, January 2, 2003 Contributor: Dennis Truslow, --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charles Windsor Cheape, Jr., 82, of Lovingston, (Nelson County), died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at a local hospital. Born Nov. 17, 1920, in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Florence Nuttycombe Cheape. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George B. "Chip" Cheape. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Florence Cheape of Lovingston; a son, Chuck Cheape of Baltimore; a daughter, Jackie Kennedy and her husband, Eddy of Roanoke; a sister, Yvonne Ward of Charlottesville; a daughter-in-law, Judi Cheape of Charlottesville; his step mother, Sarah Cheape; five grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of Nelson County Men's Club, and was retired from Centel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hill & Wood Chapel with Father Daniel Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
