Obituary: Martha Henrietta (Via) Clark, 2002 Source: The Daily Progress, Nov 8, 2002 Contributor: Dennis Truslow ----------------------------------------------------------------- Martha Henrietta Via Clark, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002. She was born June 27, 1915, in Schuyler, where she had lived all her life. She was the daughter of the late Roy L. and Ethel Via. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Clark Sr.; two sons, Percy F. Clark, and Albert A. Clark; a brother Roy L. Via Jr.; and a sister, Halley V. Gallo. Mrs. Clark attended Schuyler School and was employed by Uniroyal Tire Company, Scottsville, for many years. She was a member of Schuyler Baptist Church. She was a special, loving, and supportive mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly, and was their rock in tough times. She leaves a big hole in the hearts of all who loved and admired her strength and sense of humor. She is survived by her two sons, James E. Clark Jr. and his wife Gladys, of Charlottesville, and Ronald M. Clark and his wife, Mary, of Schuyler; her daughter, Barbara C. Marks, of Charlottesville; two daughters-in-law, Peggy Clark, and Eula N. Clark, both of Schuyler; one sister-in-law, Nell Via, of Piney River; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Penny Knisley, of Rockville, Md., and Diane Duncan, of Fairfax. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottsville. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottsville, with the Rev. Thomas B. Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Alberene Cemetery.
