OBITUARY: Alma Jane Coffey, 1996 SOURCE: Unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow ------------------------------------------------------------------ Alma Jane Coffey Alma Jane Coffey, 85, of Freshwater Cove community (Nelson County), died Monday, Dec. 21, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born Aug. 27, 1902, at Tyro she was a daughter of the late James P. Coffey and Sarah Margaret Campbell Coffey. She was a retired federal government employee in Washington, D.C., and a member of Woodland Baptist Church at Colleen. She is survived by a daughter, Frances (Fran) Phipps Beatty, Freshwater Cove; one sister, Gertrude C. Jordan, Lovingston; three granddaughters, Jackie P. Mabrey, Lovingston; Linda Lee Phipps, Deal, N.J., and Catherine J. Nash, Dacula, Ga.; one grandson, Michael B. Phipps, Haymarket; four great-grandsons, John G. Mabrey, Macon, Ga., Jay L. Mabrey, stationed with the U.S. Army in Pirmasens, Germany, and Robert and Mark Siliata, both of Deal, N.J.; one great-grand- daughter, Katie F. Mabrey, Lovingston; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service was held Thursday from Woodland Baptist Church, the Rev. Frank D.
