OBITUARY: JOHN M. COFFEY, 1987 SOURCE: Unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow ---------------------------------------------------------------------- WAYNESBORO - John M. Coffey, 95, died Monday afternoon (Dec. 21, 1987) at the residence of his son, Malcolm T. Coffey of 477 Arch Ave. He was born in Nelson County March 10, 1895, a son of Thomas and Nannie (Campbell) Coffey. He was a member of Mountain Top Christian Church and a retired farmer. His wife, Ninnie V. Coffey, died Nov. 3, 1983. Survivors include two sons, Malcolm T. of Waynesboro and Winfred H. Coffey of Lyndhurst; a brother, Forest A. Coffey of Love; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Mountain Top Christian Church by the Revs. Charles Ramsey, Stan Shirk and Ray Coffey, with burial in the church cemetery . Pallbearers will be Stephen Barrette, Ralph and Elwood Hewitt, Earl Henderson, Joe Harman and Sonny Stein. The family will receive friends at the residence of his son, Malcolm Coffey, and from 7-8 tonight in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home.
