Obituary: MARY M. COFFEY, 1946 Source: Staunton News Leader, 20 Nov 1946 Contributor: Carol Harlow -------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Mary M. Coffey passed away quietly Wednesday at three a. m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edw. Moyer, where me had made her home since Oct. 19, 1941 when she fell and broke her hip, leaving her an invalid. She was an active church worker from early girlhood until she became an invalid, always glad to welcome visitors and had a smile and kind word for everyone. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Coffey was born Sept. 29, 1867 at Nelson County a daughter of the late Jessie K. and Betsy Elizabeth Demastus. She was the last of nine children. In 1892 she married Joseph L. Coffey, son of the late Riley and Martha Fortune Coffey. Surviving are the daughter; two grandsons, Liston and Lelon Moyer, at home, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday at two p. m. at the Third Presbyterian Church, burial following in Thornrose Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Gabbert, W. W.
