Obituary: Florence Estelle Collins, 1962 Source: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Suzanne Wood Painter ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mrs. Florence Collins Mrs. Florence Estelle Collins, died Wed. 2:45 p.m. at the home of her daughter Mrs. W. W. Stevens, Arrington. She was a life-long resident of Nelson County and had resided at Roseland until the death of her husband, George Luck Collins, July 23, 1949. Mrs. Collins was a member of Rockfish Valley Baptist Church of Nellysford. She was born Sept 13, 1889, a daughter of the late James J. and Ella Dickenson Hughes. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W. Witt (Jean) Stevens of Arrington and Mrs. R. A. (Edith) Zurik of Desputanta and four grandchildren. The body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home until the hour of service. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Thornrose Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. M.C. Cook of Lovingston. Active pallbearers will be Jess W. Hughes, John P. Hughes, Burgess Duncan, Harry Hughes, Nelson G. Hughes, and James F. Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Hughes, Charles Hughes, Virgil Duncan, Pearson, Duncan, Breckenridge Hughes, Lewis Hughes, Kemper Hughes, Mason Pickett, Frank Campbell, Forrest Duncan, Jessee Coffey, Kemper Rodes and Samuel O. Mawyer.
