Obituary: Mary Ella Coleman Source: The Daily Progress, Tuesday, September 23, 2003 Contributor: Dennis Truslow, aquaair@erols.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mary Ella Coleman, of "Willbedo" Faber, Va., passed away Sunday, evening, September 21, 2003, at her residence. Born and raised in Nelson County, she was a daughter of the late Rogor Hawes Coleman, and Agnes Moore Coleman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Eva Lee Coleman Hoadley, and Joan Seneca Coleman Mackay; and her brothers-in-law, Ronald E. Hoadley and A. Roy Mackay. She is survived by her sister, Pettis Coleman Kokernot; her niece, Kimbrough Kokernot Tucker and her husband, Boyd Tucker; her great-niece, Shannon Tucker Harris, and her husband, Steven O. Harris, Lauren C. Tucker, and Karis C. Tucker; her great-great-nieces Kady L. Harris, and Amy A. Harris. Also surviving are her nephew, Ronald E. Hoadley II and his wife, Carol Hoadley; her niece, Susan Hoadley Gooch, and her husband, William Gooch, Elizabeth Mackay Rector, and her husband, David Rector, and Ellen Mackay; her great-great-niece, Kellson Hoadley Savvides, and her husband, Christopher Savvides, Travis Hoadley, and his wife, Bridget Hoadley, Mark Gooch, Cutlen Rector, Alexander Hogue; and great-great-nephew, Jacob Hoadley. Miss Coleman was a retired Registered Nurse, a graduate of the Virginia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Lynchburg. She dedicated her life to caring for others. She retired after many years of service at the University of Virginia Medical Center. A funeral service will be held Wednesday September 24, 2003, at 2 p.m. at "Rockford" the family Cemetery in Faber, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the American Heart Association.
