  GREENVILLE - Elna Vaughn (Ramsey) Conner, 91, widow of Raymond Thomas Conner Sr., 
of 105 Old Staunton Road, died at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday (April 2, 2002) at Augusta Medical 
Center.
  She was born May 1,1910, at Montebello, a daughter of Tulley Vaughn and Bessie 
Lillian (Grant) Ramsey.
  She was a charter member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.
  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died Feb. 17, 1987; a son, 
Russell Thomas Conner; a grandson, Donald Wayne Johnson; a brother, Elvin Ramsey; and 
three sisters, Ethel R. Lunsford, Ella R. McCormick and Mary R. Ralston.
  Survivors include five sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles E. Conner of Waynesboro, 
Carroll A. Conner and Paul W. Conner, both of Greenville, Raymond T. Conner Jr. and his 
wife, Jo Ann (Botkin) Conner, and John T. Conner, all of Staunton; five daughters and 
sons-in-law, Janice C. Johnson and her husband, Andrew, Helen C. Brooks and her husband, 
Garland, and Patricia C. Coffey, and her husband, Landon Jr., all of Stuarts Draft, 
Betty C. Natale and her husband, Joseph, of Richmond and Beverley C. Mish and her husband, 
Fin, of Greenville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence Ramsey and his wife, 
Helen, and T. V. Ramsey Jr. and his wife, Martha, all of Staunton, and William L. Ramsey 
and his wife, Janie, of Verona.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Sibyl R. McCormick of 
Staunton, MayBelle R. Alexander of Verona and Elizabeth R. Lickliter and her husband, Glen, 
of Strasburg; a sister-in-law, Madeline L. Ramsey of Staunton; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-
grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a 
friend of the family, Beverley Ann Carwell.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ridgeview Baptist Church, with the Revs. Don A. 
McClure and Francis Funk officiating. Burial will be at the Greenville Baptist Church 
Cemetery.
  Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Andy Johnson Jr., Ronnie Johnson, Jerry and Jeff 
Natale. F.P. Mish Jr., Gary Mish, Charles E. Conner II, Zachary Sumner and Ron Johnson Jr.
  Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Sheila and Lisa Brooks,  Julie Johnson, 
Susan Coffey, Amy Sumner, Kimberly Bradley and Melissa Johnson; her great grandchildren; 
Ben Napier; and friends attending the
of service.
  The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 this evening at Henry Funeral Home.

VA 24477.
