Critzer Charlie Crozet Critzer of Scottesville died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Born April 9, 1905, in Albemarle County, he was the son of the late Claude Crozet Critzer and Emma Elizabeth Haislip Critzer. Also preceding him in death were a son Ronal Edward Critzer; three brothers, Ernest, John and Jack Critzer; and three sisters, Mae Hibbons, Corine Dotson, and Eunice Reeves. Survivors include his wife, Arlene Hall Critzer; one son, Dale L. Critzer and his wife, Lori; two grandsons, Christopher and Stewart Critzer, all of Palmyra; one brother, Andrew Critzer of Northern Virginia; five sisters, Mary Gray of Florida, Louise Jones of Esmont, Myrtle Issaacs of Colonial Beach, Emma Atwell of Maryland, and Marge Buchholtz of Colonial Beach, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Critzer retired from the Alberene Stone Co., Schuyler. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottesville, with the Rev.Courtney Powell Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Alberene Cemetery.
