Obituary: Randolph Crowder Sr., born Jan. 16, 1937, died July 21, 2002 Source: The Daily Progress, July 23, 2002 Contributor: Dennis Truslow ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Randolph Meredith Crowder, Sr., 65, of Troy, died Sunday, July 21, 2002, at his home. Born Jan. 16, 1937, in Nelson County, he was the son of the late Lewis Meredith and Bertha Johns Crowder. Mr. Crowder was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and was self-employed with DeaCro Communications, Inc., a telephone cable company. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara Moore Crowder; one daughter, Deborah L. Crowder; one son, Randolph M. Crowder Jr., all of Troy; one sister, Thelma Bailey and her husband, Edward, of Charlottesville; one niece and nephew; several cousins, friends; and his faithful companion, "Stubby." The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning in the Teague Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue, 10 Slice Court, Palmyra, Va. 22963.
