Cumby Jr., 54, of Madison Heights died unexpectedly Thursday at his home. He was the husband of Mrs. Loa Parr Cumby. He was born in Pamplin, Oct. 2, 1922, a son of Mrs. Elsie P. Cumby and the late Willie C. Cumby Sr. He was employed for the past 28 years at Glamorgan Pipe and Foundry Co. and was a veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the Izaek Walton League. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by three sons, Clifton L. Cumby of Lynchburg, Ronald Lee Cumby and William Keith Cumby, both at home; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Terry of Concord; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Henderson of Lynchburg and Mrs. Rosemary Bates of Pamplin. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Roseland, conducted by the Rev. Sam Crawford. Burial will be in Amherst Cemetery.
