Cunningham, 94, of the Masonic Home of Virginia and formerly of Gladstone, (Nelson County), died Jan. 25, 2003. He was the husband of the late Mary Pearl Seay Cunningham. Born in Buckingham County, he was a son of the late Virginia Carter and John Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham was a member of Gladstone Memorial Baptist Church and was a 50-year member of John Ancell Masonic Lodge. He is survived by a son and his wife, Richard Russell and Mary Cunningham of Chesterfield; a daughter and her husband, Barbara and Harvey Skinner of Chester; four grandchildren, Richard R. Jr., and his wife, Linda, Janet Lynch and friend, Don Cole, Vicki Skinner, and Christopher R. Skinner and his wife, Lee Ann; six great-grandchildren, Katie, Kellyn, Richard III and Stephen Cunningham, Justin and Jason Lynch; two step-great-grandchildren, Kevin and Brian Johnson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Gladstone Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. J.N. Williams, burial will follow in Amherst Cemetery. A Masonic service will be held Monday night at 7 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home with visitation to follow.
