NELSON COUNTY, VA - OBITUARIES - Lewis Eugene Dameron, 25 Apr 2004 ----¤¤¤---- The Daily Progress, Tuesday, April 27, 2004 Lewis Eugene Dameron, 64, of Earlysville, died Sunday, April 25, 2004, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Born Sept. 24, 1939, in Afton, (Nelson County), Va., he was the son of the late Clifton Merit Dameron and Estelle Gray Dameron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Wingfield; and two brothers, Junior Dameron and Douglas Dameron. He is survived by his wife, Joan Stevens Dameron; one daughter, Dorlisa Lynn Tannenbaum and her husband, Steven; one son, David Lewis Dameron; two sisters, Judy Fitzgerald and Delores Lawhorn; four brothers, Roger Dameron and his wife, Joyce, Paul Dameron and his wife, Sandra, Jerry Dameron and his wife, Dot, and Robert Dameron and his wife, Kathy; and a special friend, Shorty. Mr. Dameron was a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. He owned and operated Earlysville General Store for 14 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, Camp J. Lawson Jr., VFW Post 2044, Earlysville, Va., and the American Legion. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004, at Teague Chapel with Chaplain Don Moore officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Teague Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you send a note or card with your favorite memory or story about Lewis for his first grandchild, Cabot Lewis Lee Tannenbaum, who is due in the very immediate future.
