Finisterl 'Finny' Fitzgerald
Self-employed
Finisterl Palmer "Finny" Fitzgerald, 67, husband of Marie (Hensley) 
Fitzgerald, of South Magnolia Ave., Waynesboro, died Sunday (Feb. 22, 2004) at 
his residence.
He was born July 9, 1936, in Augusta County, Va., a son of Palmer Fitzgerald 
and Lina C. Fitzgerald.
Mr. Fitzgerald was self-employed in the construction business.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Fitzgerald, William "Billy" 
Fitzgerald and James Fitzgerald; and his sister, Velma F. Weatherholtz.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 39 years, are three sons, David S. 
Fitzgerald of Ruckersville, Preston J. Fitzgerald of Verona and Douglas E. 
Goff of Waynesboro; three daughters, Penny D. Jeffers of Augusta County, Paula 
M. Burnett of Waynesboro and E. Gail Coeyman of West Columbia, S.C.; a special 
friend, Bobbie Cash; four brothers, Clyde and Herman Fitzgerald, both of Beach 
Grove, Va., Vincent Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft and Palmer Fitzgerald Jr. of 
Staunton; seven grandchildren, Thomas and Carrie Coeyman, Melissa and Miranda 
Fitzgerald, Megan Jeffers, and Bradly and Emma Burnett; and a number of nieces 
and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Augusta 
Memorial Park by the Rev. D.C. Flory.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at McDow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 
215, Fishersville, Va., 22939, or the Rockingham Memorial Hospital Cancer 
Center.
McDow Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
