Obituary: Leslie Tweedy Farrar, 2002 Source: The Daily Progress, November 17, 2002 Contributor: Dennis Truslow -------------------------------------------------------------- Leslie Tweedy Farrar of Afton, (Nelson County), Va., 52, died on Friday, November 15, 2002 in a Richmond hospital after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Joan Niedringhaus Farrar from St. Louis, Mo. and Dr. John T. Farrar of Williamsburg. She is survived by her father; her brother, John Hayward Farrar of Clinton, Miss.; two sisters, Elizabeth Gregg Smith of Baltimore and Anne Dandridge Farrar of San Francisco; seven nieces and nephews and 10 first cousins across the country. Between 1988 and 1995, Leslie Farrar and her former husband, Freeman Turley, owned and operated a bookshop, Books First, on E. Grace St. A memorial service will be held on November 24 at 1 p.m. at the New Nature Center, Maymont Park, in Richmond. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Maymont Foundation, 1600 Hampton St., Richmond, Va. or the Humane Society.
