OBITUARY: DELBERT K. FITZGERALD, 1984 SOURCE: unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow ------------------------------------------------------ STUARTS DRAFT - Delbert K. Fitzgerald, 59, of Stuarts Draft, died Saturday (June 9, 1984) in University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born Nov. 15, 1924 at Montebello, a son of Cliffton Cleveland and Carrie (Allen) Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft. He was a member of Waynesboro Moose Lodge, a veteran of World War II, a member of Stuarts Draft VFW Post 9339 and was a carpenter. In addition to his mother, survivors include his former wife, Mrs. Minnie Bryant Fitzgerald of Afton; three daughters, Mrs. April Clark of Crozet, and Mrs. Patricia Thompson and Mrs. Karen Nickell, both of Afton; three sons, Sherwood of Stuarts Draft and Cliffton and Shelton Fitzgerald, both of Afton; one brother, Dewell Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft; one sister, Mrs. Claude T. Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft; six grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday in Stuarts Draft chapel of Etter Funeral Home by the Revs. Earl Monroe and Roy Martin. Burial will be in Haynes Chapel Cemetery, Montibello. Pallbearers will be Dennis and Dale Allen, Don and Butch Taylor, Bill Sensabaugh and Wayne Coffey. The family will receive friends from 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.
