OBITUARY: CLIFTON C. FITZGERALD, 1962 SOURCE: unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow ------------------------------------------------------ Clifton Cleveland Fitzgerald, 71, of Rt. 1, Stuarts Draft, died at 7 p.m. Monday (Aug. 27, 1962) at the Waynesboro Community Hospital following an unexpected heart attack. Mr. Fitzgerald was a verteran of World War I and was a dealer in timber and pulpwood. He was born April 9, 1891, in Montebello, a son of the late Alexander Robert and Eveline Hatter Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald is survived by two sons, Delbert K. Fitzgerald, Greenville, and Dewell C. Fitzgerald, Stuarts Draft; one daughter, Mrs. Lorine Fitzgerald, Stuarts Draft; also 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Woody D. Fitzgerald, Stuarts Draft; John Fitzgerald, Greenville, and Calvin N. Fitzgerald, Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Effie Hall Lane, Liberty, Ky. The body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home until this afternoon when it will be returned to the home of his son, Dewell Fitzgerald, near Stuarts Draft. Funeral services will be held Thursday at two p.m. at Haines Chapel at Montebello, conducted by the Rev. Leonard Day, with burial in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Everett Allen, Manley Allen, Willie Bryant, James Bryant, Ernest Fitzgerald, and Lloyd Fitzgerald.
