OBITUARY: MRS. HANNAH FITZGERALD, 1987 SOURCE: Daily News Leader, Staunton, VA (Unknown date) CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow -------------------------------------------------------- WAYNESBORO - Mrs. Hannah P. Fitzgerald, 81, of 545 Chestnut Ave., died early Wednesday morning (Oct. 14, 1987) at Waynesboro Community Hospital. She was born in Nelson County July 25, 1906, a daughter of William H. and Emma (Taylor) Phillips. She was a member of SherLynd Baptist Church. Her husband, Arthur Newton Fitzgerald, died May 22, 1975. Survivors include seven sons, Wilmer of Lynchburg, Eldridge Wilson of Piney River, Joseph, James C. and Elwood I., all of Waynesboro, Charles Ed of Sherando and Junior Franklin Fitzgerald of Crozet; three daughters, Maggie Allen and Jean Miller, both of Stuarts Draft, and Frances Quick, of Waynesboro; and 37 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the last member of her immediate family. A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home by the Revs. Roy D. Kiser, Tommy B. Toms and John L. Sullivan, with burial in Mountain View Mennonite Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Harmon, Charles Baker, Pete Hite, Larry Ryan, Sonny Taylor and Elmer Lunsford. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
