Obituary: Rufus Massie Fitzgerald, 1956 Source: The Daily Progress, June 5, 1956 Contributor: Ronnie Fitzgerald --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SCOTTSVILLE - Rufus Massie Fitzgerald, 78, died yesterday morning at his home at Schuyler after a long illness. A native of Nelson County, he was the son of the late Columbus and Bonnie Jane Thompson Fitzgerald and was a retired employer of the Alberene Stone Co. He leaves his wife, the former Miss Clora Ella Bowen, five sons, Herman and Earl Fitzgerald, of Schuyler, Theodore Fitzgerald, of Fairfax, Irving Fitzgerald of Washington, D.C., and Haywood Fitzgerald of Crozet: two daughters, Mrs. Frances Reznick, of Jacksonville, N.C. and Mrs. Margaret Hurwitz, of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, Willie Fitzgerald, of Glade Springs, Elmer Fitzgerald, of Schuyler, Percy Fitzgerald, of Crozet, and Rhodsey Fitzgerald, of Scottsville; 27 grand- children and a great-grandchild.
