Fitzgerald Herman Massie Fitzgerald, 86, of Schuyler died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1993, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Mary Viar Fitzgerald; two daughters, Lily Tyler and Elise Moore, both of Schuyler; three sons, Richard Fitzgerald of Charlottesville, Robert Fitzgerald of Kanoplis, Kan., and William Fitzgerald of Newport News; a special nephew, Ronald Keith Fitzgerald of Schuyler, two sisters, Frances Reznick of Schuyler and Margaret Donnelly of Waynesboro; one brother, Theodore Fitzgerald of Afton; 12 grand- children; and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by two sons, Herman M. Fitzgerald, Jr. and Haywood Gene Fitzgerald; four brothers; and one sister. He retired from Alberene Stone Division of Georgia marble and was a member of New Faith United Methodist Church, Schuyler. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottsville, with the Rev. Fred Wray officiating. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens, Charlottesville.
