Fitzgerald LYNDHURST - Jesse William Fitzgerald, 73, of Lyndhurst, died Friday (Jan. 19, 1996) at his residence. He was born March 11, 1922, in Montebello, a son of the late Ovandy Miles and Rose Fitzgerald. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Grubert Avenue Church of God and was retired from the Waynesboro Du Pont plant with 42 years of service. After his retirement, he operated Fitz's Workshop until his death. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie V. Fitzgerald, on May 5, 1991; a daughter, Linda V. Shiflett, on Feb. 26, 1984; and a son, Bobby Fitzgerald, on June 23, 1994. Survivors include his sons, William Fitzgerald of Winterhaven, Fla., Mikeral Eugene Fitzgerald of Staunton, and Steve Fitzgerald and Preston Fitzgerald, both of Crimora; his daughter, Faye Winegard of Brooksville, Fla.; 26 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. A service was conducted at 11 a.m. today in the Grubert Avenue Church of God in Staunton by the Rev. Wayne Collier. Burial followed in Oak Lawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers were Clarence Tinsley, David Zane Mize, Dwight Tinsley, Kenny Coffey, Ed Mason, Scott Tinsley, Irvin Puckett and David Fitzgerald. Honorary pallbearers will he members of the Grubert Avenue Church of God. Memorial donations may be made to the Waynesboro First Aid Crew, P.O.
