JAMES M. FITZGERALD
  James Melvin Fitzgerald (Jimmy), 52, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at 
his home in Roseland.
  Born in Waynesboro on July 8, 1950, he was a son of James Palmer and 
Mary Coffey Fitzgerald of Roseland.  He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 
was a member and past master of Shipman Masonic Lodge #46, was a 10-year 
member and former chairman of the Nelson County Service Authority, and 
was owner and operator of Fitzgerald Appliance.
  In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his loving wife 
of 32 years, Susie Lawhorne Fitzgerald; their children, Edward Palmer 
Fitzgerald and wife, Virginia, and Audrey Faith Fitzgerald, all of Arrington; 
one brother, Milton Fitzgerald of Roseland; three sisters; Edith Layne of 
Madison Heights; Barbara Rowland of Lychburg, and Linda Bailes of Stuarts 
Draft; and three grandchildren.
