Obituary: John Franklin Fitzgerald, 2003 Source: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Carol Harlow, charlow1@ntelos.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JOHN FRANKLIN FITZGERALD STUARTS DRAFT, VA John Franklin Fitzgerald, 94, of Stuarts Draft Highway died Friday November 7, 2003 at the Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fishersville. He was born October 7, 1909 in Montibello a son of the late Issac Fitzgerald and Mary Whitesell Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was the oldest living member of Calvary United Methodist Church where he had served as a Lay Leader, Sunday School Teacher and as a member of the Board of Trustees. He was a beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather and had many loving friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Irene C. Fitzgerald, a grand-daughter, Cherie Leigh Harris, three brothers Clarence, Robert and Gilbert Fitzgerald and two sisters Mattie Gilmer and Virginia Hite. He is survived by three daughthers, Bonnie Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft and Wanda Snead and her husband J. C. of Stuarts Draft and Linda Harris and her husband Buck of Stuarts Draft; three grandchildren Chuck Harris of Stuarts Draft, Pam Whitson and her husband Robert of Churchville and Chad Harris and his wife Shannon of Stuarts Draft; three great grandchildren Krista and Kellie Whitson and Lyndsay Harris and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Calvary United Methodist Church, Stuarts Draft at 11:00 a.m. Monday November 10, 2003 with Rev. B Failes, Jr., Rev. Conchita Holts and Rev. Joel Robertson officiating.
