Fortune Mary Micklem Fortune, 95 , of the Tye River Community in Nelson County, formerly of Schuyler, died Sunday, Nov 14, 1999. The widow of Dewey Ryan Fortune, she was born Oct. 22, 1904, at Rockfish Depot, Nelson County, to the late Dr. Austen Micklem and the late Bettie Farrar. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Fortune Markwood of Chester; three sons, Dewey Ryan (Billy) Fortune Jr. of Richmond, George Austen Fortune of Tye River Community and Albert Joseph (A.J.) Fortune of Richmond; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren; a beloved son-in-law, Thomas Wilson Markwood; and two beloved daughters-in-law, Kathleen Gowen Fortune and Jean Joyner Fortune. She was a member of trinity Episcopal Church in Arrington. Funeral services will be held at 11.30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Craig Fickling officiating. Interment will follow at Cherry Hill Farm in Arrington. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at Wells/ Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Roseland Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 39, Roseland, Va. 22967.
