Obituary: John Sterling Gentry, 2002 Source: Daily News Leader Contributor: Dennis Truslow ----------------------------------------------------------------------- John Sterling Gentry, 84, of Afton, formerly of Madison County, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at his residence. Born July 4, 1918, in Madison County, he was the son of the late Henry and Irene Watson Gentry. His wife was the late Isabelle Paige Gentry. Mr. Gentry was a retired farmer. He is survived by his three daughters, Mary Price of Afton, Mary Franklin of Culpeper, and Chris Ann Jones of Louisa; his three sons, Donald, Ronald, and Sterling Lee Gentry, all of Pennsylvania; his brother, Henry Gentry of Orange; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon in Westview Cemetery in Orange, conducted by the Rev. Frank Lewis. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Preddy Funeral Home, 250 W.
