Obituary: Obea Daniel Glass, Sr., 2003 Source: The Daily Progress, July 17, 2003 Contributor: Dennis Truslow, aquaair@erols.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Obea Daniel Glass, Sr., 71 of Faber, (Nelson County), VA, died Wednesday, July 15, 2003. Born June 4, 1932, in Albemarle County, he was the son of the late Clifford Edward Glass and Virginia Elizabeth Viar Glass. He was a member of Rock Spring United Methodist Church and a long time member of the Faber Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Glass retired from Dawson Cabinet Shop after 46 years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Alice Marie Shaver Glass; two sons, Obea D. Glass, Jr. of Faber and George Clifford Glass and wife, Chrissy of Esmont; three daughters, Janet Adkins and husband Ronald, Rosemary Johnson and husband Travis all of Faber and Tammy Thompson and husband Norman Graybill of Afton; one adopted daughter, Anita Rohr and husband Richard of Lovingston; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Shawn Johnson of Faber; Daniel and Matthew Glass of Esmont; Brandy Graybill of Afton; Samantha Glass of Charlottesville; and Skye Adkins of Faber; one great granddaughter, Amy Rohr of Lovingston; one brother, Gene Glass and wife Patsy of Faber; one half-sister, Polly Brown of Waynesboro and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Rock Spring United Methodist Church in Faber with Dr. Dan Abbott officiating. Interment will follow in the Glass Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2003 at Teague Funeral Home.
