Douglas Clayton Grant Sr.
 
  Shipman - Douglas Clayton Sr., 76, of Browning Cove, Died Thursday morning,
Nov 14,2002, at the University of Va. Medical Center in Charlottesville.
  Born Aug. 26,1926, in Nelson Co., he was the son of the Late William Henry 
Grant and Lena Estell Thompson-Grant.  He was a member of the Antioch Pentecostal 
Holiness Church at Shipman, a World War II Navy Veteran and a heavy equipment 
operator for Farwell Construction of Lynchburg.
  He is survived by his 3rd wife Glenda Sue Hudson-Grant, Two Daughters, Rachel 
Grant Haraka of Mauldin, SC & Orlando, FL(Both) and Rebecca Grant Jessie also of 
Orlando, FL, Son is Douglas Clayton Grant II and his wife Nancy of Shipman, a 
brother, Alvis Grant in Bedford, a sister, Lucretia Grant Kestier of Staunton; 
Six grandchildren and Seven G-Grandchildren.
  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Sunday at Wells and Sheffeilds Funeral 
Chapel in Lovingston with Pastor Oscar Bryant officiating with interment in the 
Antioch Church Cemetary (Next to Jesse Bryant and Pearl C. Fitzgerald).
  Will recieve family and friends from 7-8 pm on Sat at the funeral home and 
residence.
