Obituary: James Walker Harris, Age 76, born May 21, 1914, died Nov. 22,1990 Published: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Dennis Truslow ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- James Walker Harris, 76, of 1021 E. Main St., No. 47, Waynesboro, died Thursday morning (Nov. 22, 1990) at Waynesboro Community Hospital. He was born May 21, 1914, at Iron Gate, a son of Bernard and Neilie Strange Harris. A former employee of the city of Waynesboro for 38 years, Mr. Harris was a member of Church of God. His wife, Hallie A. Truslow Harris (of Nelson County), died Jan. 30, 1968. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William B. Harris, and by two grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Charles W. Harris and Bobby A. Harris, both of Richmond, and George E. Harris of Deephaven, Minn.; two stepsons, Howell D. Truslow of Stuarts Draft and Howe D. Truslow of Lyndhurst; five daughters, Ethel L. Baber of Barboursville, Mabel A. Harris of Waynesboro, Mildred M. Bryant of Crozier, Jean A. Harris of Baltimore, and Patricia A. Blankenbaker of Gordonsville; 24 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 18 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at McDow Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry W. Carroll. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dallas Fix, Bill Graham, Robert Benson, Ricky Truslow, Kemp Lowe, Robert Bryant, Donnie Clinedinst and Jerry Lowery. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Adams, Donnie Truslow, Miles Truslow, Howe Truslow Jr., Ricky Truslow Jr., Donnie Clinedinst, Kevin Adams, Travis Adams, and other family and friends.
